Our company was founded by the legendary Paul E. Gaither in 1970. Renowned for his expertise in propeller maintenance and an illustrious career as a cargo pilot and U.S. Air Force veteran, Paul’s vision was to deliver exceptional quality and precision in propeller services. His unwavering commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction quickly established the company as a reliable provider in the aviation community, laying the foundation for its enduring success.

We remain a proud family-owned business, now under the leadership of Thomas P. Gaither, Paul’s son and successor. Thomas continues to uphold his father’s legacy, bringing his expertise and dedication to maintaining the high standards set by the company. Under his stewardship, the company has expanded its capabilities, thriving in a competitive industry while staying true to its founding principles.

Certified under FAA regulations (Part 145) and EASA Part-145 standards, we also implement FAA Safety Management System (SMS) protocols. The company adheres to rigorous safety and compliance measures, ensuring that every repair and overhaul meets industry standards.

We employ factory-trained and highly qualified technicians, including NAS410-certified Level 2 inspectors, to perform non-destructive testing (NDT). This expertise ensures precision in every repair and overhaul, maintaining the company’s reputation for excellence. The company exclusively uses factory parts for all repairs and overhauls, avoiding PMA (Parts Manufacturer Approval) parts and deice boots to ensure the highest quality and reliability.

We benefit from Opa-Locka, FL’s proximity to major aviation hubs, facilitating efficient service and logistics. The company’s global reach is further enhanced by its dedicated AOG (Aircraft on Ground) team, ready to be dispatched worldwide to support clients in urgent situations and minimize aircraft downtime.

We have earned recognition for our excellence within the aviation industry, notably being featured in Hartzell Propellers Inc.’s Leading Edge Magazine. The article highlights the company’s exceptional service quality, innovative practices, and longstanding commitment to maintaining the highest standards in propeller repair and overhaul.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service and quality. Built for the Future, Rooted in Legacy

Aviation Propellers Inc. blends modern capability with old-school values. We’re family-run, proudly independent, and dedicated to maintaining the art and science of propeller performance.

You may know us for our vintage mascot, Daisy, or our BBQs at the shop — but what you’ll remember is how we take care of your aircraft.

Have You Met Daisy?

Aviation Propellers’ founder, Paul Gaither, had many aviation passions. In addition to being a multi-platform certified pilot, a successful entrepreneur and renowned propeller mechanic in his own right, he was absolutely passionate about aviation history and especially vintage WWII nose art.

“The Mighty Eighth”

Paul had a special admiration for the European Theater based US 8th Airforce “The Mighty Eighth”. The walls of the prop shop became home for many of these vintage pieces.

The Past and the Future

Shortly before his passing in 2021, the API team came together to develop a new and original pinup design for a new era of propeller aviation. Daisy was created as a tribute to Paul and his steadfast leadership of 50 plus years at the prop shop, but she is also a nod towards our future. She is meant to evoke both the strength of the women who worked in aircraft factories during World War II and the glamour of the pin-up beauties who adorned the noses of the B-17s and B-24s those women helped produce. Daisy embodies our traditional commitments to quality, integrity and hard work while embracing the challenges of modern propeller maintenance.

Daisy’s Role at Aviation Propellers Inc.

Today, every Daisy branded propeller that leaves our shop carries with it the same ethics-based mantra that Paul instilled in his managers and employees since 1970: "Treat the customer's problems like you would your own." This philosophy is more than just a slogan—it's a living testament to Paul's unwavering commitment to excellence and personal integrity. From the smallest single-engine aircraft to multi-engine turboprops, our team approaches each propeller with the same meticulous care and dedication that Paul demonstrated throughout his 64-year career. We don't just repair and overhaul propellers; we solve challenges, honor aviation heritage, and continue the legacy of craftsmanship that Paul Gaither built with his own hands and visionary leadership.
